The MEHOP mission is to improve the health status of our clients by providing quality primary health care services and spiritual care to people in the communities we serve regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, or the ability to pay.
MEHOP believes in the whole person approach of body, mind, and spirit. One of the main goals of this program is to treat each person with dignity and respect. The staff strives to empower each person to the best of their ability.
MEHOP provides comprehensive primary health care and spiritual ministry to the isolated, underserved, uninsured, disadvantaged and to those who are otherwise unable to access medical assistance regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, or ability to pay; the clinic is accessible to people with disabilities.
MEHOP's medical services are provided Monday through Thursday daily through the Bay City site. The MEHOP mobile clinic has suspended services until further notice.
MEHOP is now a distribution site for Angel Food Ministries. $30 for a week's supply of food for a family of four, plus many other specials, including prepared meals and fresh fruits and vegetables. Now providing transportation from Wharton to Bay City every Tuesday, beginning July 6---Appointments must be made in advance----Call 1-877-705-2008 to schedule appointment. Van departs St. Thomas Thrift Shop at 530 East Milam (Highway 60) at 8:15 a.m. for 9:00 11:00 a.m. appointments. Will return to Wharton by noon.
