Discounted eye exams and glasses

$10 Eye exam vouchers are available for MEHOP patients at the first of every month. Vouchers are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
Eye glasses are also available at discounted prices. MEHOP offers a variety of frame styles to choose from.

Free Books for children

Children receive a free book after their appointments. We have books for all ages. Books also available in Spanish.

Discount Prescription Programs

MEHOP offers two prescription savings programs to assist all our sliding fee qualified patients with prescription costs; Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) and the 340B Program.

Through PAP, prescriptions are ordered and delivered directly to MEHOP at which time patients are notified and come to MEHOP to pick up their prescriptions. With the 340B Program, MEHOP has partnered with Hibbs Pharmacy in Bay City to take care of our patients prescription needs at the 340B discount rates.

Free transportation

MEHOP provides transportation for our patients to medical, dental and behavioral health appointments. Eligibility and appointments for lab work are excluded. Appointments must be made in advance. Space is limited to patients only, unless patient is under the age of 16 or requires assistance due to disability. Call for transportation schedule for your area.

Medicaid Enrollment Services

For our Patients and Community, MEHOP is a designated site location by The Texas Department of Health and Human Services for an out-stationed Medicaid Enrollment Specialist. If you are interested in Medicaid enrollment and qualifications including Medicaid, CHIPS and SNAP please contact MEHOP to schedule an appointment with our Eligibility Department.

Case Management

Community Garden

MEHOP maintains a fall and spring garden on site. The fruit and vegetables harvested are given away during Angelfood distribution, during clinic hours and also provided to a local food bank in Matagorda County.
